In recognition of National Nurses Week, Time Warner Cable News explored the employment outlook for the profession.

“Employers have not been able to find enough nurses to fill their jobs for years. It’s been a problems from coast to coast. As National Nursing Week recognizes their hard work, many are trying to break into the profession. Alana LaFlore takes a look at how graduates to be, are fairing in the Mohawk Valley.”

For insight, LaFkore spoke to Jeremy Enck, vice president of sales at Fortus Healthcare Resources, who noted that there’s one nurse for every five available jobs nationwide.

“Our population is getting older,” said Jeremy Enck of Fortus Healthcare Resources. “We live a lot longer. We’re not healthy as a country. That’s a huge supply and demand issue. It’s crucial to keep the pipeline going with well educated nurses coming out of these schools.”
